Pedal situation is bad, support here is difficult to get for many things, so i'll try myself again and if nothing helps get me a new wheel (pedals are not sold seperately), maybe try Fanatec as you suggested - probably not, as price is crazy, could get more than 10 Logitech wheels, should be enough for 20 years of gaming

Try taping a piece of hose pipe to your vacuum cleaner nozzle & wiggling it about inside the pedal housing? It worked on my old DFGT...
